Sustainable Leadership and Governance (Governance criteria)

Both increasing internationalisation and globalisation of the money markets and corporate crises and collapses have led to the rules and principles that govern good and responsible business management. In Germany, a government commission drew up the German Corporate Governance Code. In 2010, the existing recommendation of the code to pay attention to diversity when appointing board and advisory board members was broadened and put in more concrete terms. This applies also to the number of international experts. The larger the share that women have in a company, the healthier its balance sheet. In today’s globalised and highly communicative world, female strengths are increasingly in demand. There are indications that a higher proportion of women in management positions reduces risk-taking behaviour in respect of business decisions.
