Dr Mary Papaschinopoulou
Director of the Association of North German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Representation to the EU

Dr Mary Papaschinopoulou, born in 1968 in Athens, Greece, studied law and economics at the Universities of Athens, Hannover and Hamburg and holds a doctorate in law from the University of Hamburg. In 2000 she took over the Representation of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce to the EU in Brussels. In the space of four years, she oversaw the growth of the Brussels office to become a representation of 13 CCIs and 600,000 companies, covering the whole of northern Germany. Today, the Brussels Representation specialises in EU mari-time policy issues of all kinds, covering areas such as trade, transport, logistics and the envi-ronment. Furthermore, it provides professional corporate diplomacy services tailored to the individual needs of companies in northern Germany.
