Shaping the Future – Leadership for the 21st Century

Carolyn Buck-Luce (Ernst & Young) to speak at EWMD International Conference in Hamburg on 18 June 2011

Leadership for the 21st Century – Keynote speaker Carolyn Buck-Luce motivates managers and businesses to play an active role in shaping the future. She provides inspiration for a future where corporate cultures will come face to face with social change. Those who view this as an opportunity will be laying a firm foundation for future success.

As Global Life Sciences Sector Leader at Ernst & Young, Carolyn Buck-Luce is responsible for the sector’s strategy, thought leadership, resourcing, learning and solution development to best serve clients in the life sciences industry. Following her presentation, she will join other experts on the “Sustainable Leadership and Social Aspects” panel to debate how individual and corporate social commitment can be integrated into a strategy. Hamburg’s principles of the honourable merchant (Leitbild des Ehrbaren Kaufmanns), which encompass civic involvement by and in business,
could represent one angle.

There are many influences on sustainable leadership, and it has just as many facets. New pictures emerge depending on how we turn the kaleidoscope and with them new opportunities for putting our thoughts on sustainability into practice.

On the panel are Dr Mary Papaschinopoulou, Director of the Association of Northern German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Representation to the EU, Monica Schofield, Director of International Cooperation & EU Office, TuTech Innovation, Dr Annette Kleinfeld from Dr. Kleinfeld CEC – Corporate Excellence Consultancy, Kris Hauf, President of EWMD International e.V. and proprietor of KHPV private wealth managers, and Minou Beatrice Tikrani, Board Member of VEEK (Honourable Society of Hamburg Merchants) and Managing Director of the PR agency Konstruktiv PR-Beratungsgesellschaft.

The international conference “Shaping the Future – Sustainable Leadership and Green Content” is being hosted jointly by EWMD and Hamburg Chamber of Commerce on 17 – 18 June. The conference initiators are looking forward to highcalibre, original presentations, interesting discussions and inspiration for the future.
