Dr. Ursula Weidenfeld


Dr. Ursula Weidenfeld works as a journalist, columnist, and moderator based in Berlin and Potsdam. She studied economics, economic history, and German studies and literature in Bonn and Munich and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Bonn. She completed her journalistic traineeship at the George-von-HoltzbrinckSchool in Düsseldorf and started to work as a correspondent and deputy department manager at Wirtschaftswoche, a weekly German economic magazine. After moving to Berlin and working for the Tagesspiegel, Dr. Weidenfeld joined the founding team of the Financial Times Deutschland in 1999, where she became head of the department reporting on corporations and businesses. In 2001, she returned to the Tagesspiegel and became deputy chief editor in 2004. Between 2008 and 2009, she served as managing editor at Impulse, a business magazine. She is a regular commentator for the Handelsblatt, a German trade journal, and has a regular column in the Tagesspiegel.
